Why it's a bottleneck
Carbon fiber precursor chemistry is the upstream gate: polyacrylonitrile (PAN) must be spun, oxidized, carbonized at 1,000-3,000°C, and surface-treated in a continuous process where any interruption ruins the entire spool line.
